I only picked this photo because I’d like to pose a question to the readers of TPL: what the hell is a seawolf?
The Red Wings no longer hold the rights to their ninth round pick in 2004, Nils Backstrom. The Wings held the rights to the Swedish-born defender until August, 2010, but evidently have decided that he was not in the team’s plans and have allowed him to seek a contract elsewhere.
So sayeth Red Wings Central.
He has been invited to Washington Capitals training camp.
