Conner up, Andersson down

We knew something was up earlier, with MLive’s Michael Zuidema quoting Griffins head coach Curt Fraser. But a pair of Red Wings press releases have made it official: Joakim Andersson has been sent down, and Chris Conner has been recalled to the big club after just being sent down on Monday.

Holmstrom and Eaves are on IR — Helm is still active, but might not be available to play yet. With Conner on the roster, the team sits at 22 players — one below the limit.

With Jan Mursak scheduled to come back to Detroit in the next few days, something’s going to have to be done to activate Tomas Holmstrom, likely Gustav Nyquist being sent back down.

CURRENT ACTIVE ROSTER (22)
Franzen — Datsyuk — Bertuzzi
Filppula — Zetterberg — Hudler
Miller — Abdelkader — Cleary
Nyquist — Emmerton — Conner
Helm

Lidstrom — White
Stuart — Kronwall
Ericsson — Commodore
Kindl

Howard
Conklin

On Conditioning Assignment (Expires January 11) :: Jan Mursak
On Long-Term Injured Reserve :: none
On Short-Term Injured Reserve :: Patrick Eaves (available to come off when healthy but not expected until mid-January at the earliest), Tomas Holmstrom (available anytime after tomorrow)

Waiver Exempt :: Gustav Nyquist (exempt all season), Chris Conner (will not have to clear until he’s played 4 more games with Detroit)
